Ingredients

  • Taro (芋頭): 100g
  • Purple sweet potato (紫薯): 100g
  • Pumpkin (南瓜): 100g
  • Condensed milk (煉乳): 30g
  • Granulated sugar (白砂糖): 30g
  • Potato starch (土豆淀粉): 1 bowl
  • Tapioca starch (木薯淀粉): 1 bowl
  • Hot water (熱水): 2 bowls

    Instructions

    1. Steam and Mash (蒸熟搗泥):

    • Steam taro, purple sweet potato, and pumpkin until soft.
    • Mash each ingredient separately, adding a little condensed milk and granulated sugar to taste.

    2. Shape into Balls (搓成小丸子):

    • Mix each mashed ingredient until smooth, ensuring there are no lumps.
    • Roll into small balls and set aside.

    3. Prepare the Batter (準備粉漿):

    • Mix 1 bowl of potato starch, 1 bowl of tapioca starch, and 2 bowls of hot water.
    • Stir quickly until the mixture becomes thick and stretchy.

    4. Coat and Steam (裹粉蒸熟)

    • Coat each ball evenly with the starch batter.
    • Steam for 8-10 minutes until the balls turn translucent.

    5. Cool and Serve (冷卻享用):

    • Soak the steamed balls in cold water, then drain.
    • Serve as a dessert, or pair with syrup or coconut milk for extra flavor.
